Throughout the s, Family planning gained greater visibility and importance for Jamaica’s development agenda. The NFPB, empowered by the National Family Planning Act (), became the Government agency responsible for preparing, implementing, coordinating, and promoting family planning services in Jamaica.

Developing Family Planning Standards in Jamaica Background The National Family Planning Board (NFPB) of Jamaica is a public sector agency linked with the Ministry of Health (MOH).

The Board promotes family planning services in Jamaica, procures contraceptives, and works with the government to set policies and guidelines for family planning. This flip-chart is a tool to use during family planning counselling or in group sessions with clients.

It can: • help your clients choose and use the method of family planning that suits them best; • give you the information you need for high-quality and effective family planning counseling and care; • help you know who may need referral.
